Hey I dunno if anyone actually come on here anymore but ive been playing Anphillia DOD, seems pretty legit. Its a Drows vs Surfacers seen as many as 8 people on at a time. If anyone has the itch to come hang out with me please do, I can always use the company and am always on!

I come on here when I get a notification about a private message. Glad to hear that there's a server up again; 8 players isn't the 20-30 we'd sometimes see from this iteration of Anph, but it's certainly a good start.

I personally don't have much interest in to investing in to a character that may or may not see more then a two month lifespan. At some point I may stop by to say hi, though, I suppose.

Been playing on this DoD server for a few weeks now. It is a bit hardcore (start @lev 1, lower xp gains, long hours=longer rest times)

Usually it is just me and 1 or 2 others but that is all you need for a good time. It just feels like pen-paper sometime.

Anyway, other notes: There have been a few DM-NPC interaction but it was very non-obtrusive, non-contrived. I would like to see a few more players join.

There is no forum from what I can tell and I don't really care. Seems like a server where you pick a side and go beat the other factions ass if you can. (after we figure out how to kill this dire bear)

Map is a bit different from Axfell side but everything else is about the same.

I played for a bit.. then I discovered I could log into another account's characters. (Ended up using someone's lvl 10 fighter to kill things so my character got to lvl 5, they also had a SD build so I tested the hide in plane sight feat.).

The server doesn't protect other nwn keys logging into your characters.
Shadow Dancer's hide in plane site feat isn't scripted with a timer.
Lacking other scripts to prevent multi-class combinations.
Got messaged by another player about another anphillia potentially going to be hosted.

    So... I stopped playing.
Doesn't seem worth it if players can use your character while you're offline, or make a character without multi-class restrictions. Or someone is pouching the player base away from the server.

    Sad

Heck... I bet pickpocket works. I once played an anphilia were pickpocket worked.. wasn't any fun being pickpocket'd while on neutral ground.

The reality of the Anphillia universe is that because the module was so widely available, there are always going to be people who have access to the module, can engage in a basic level of scripting, and who will be able to poach players from currently running Anphillia servers.

It's the unfortunate reality; if you do the same thing as previous iterations, people come to the server pre-bored and anyone else can do the same thing as you by stealing your players.

If you try to do something a new and a bit different, similar deal; someone probably won't copy you, but they'll sow discontent amongst players and talk about the "good ole days" and host the same old boring Anph in competition to yours and kill your playerbase.

Either way - I'd probably be still playing NWN if I wasn't doing other things; but right now Skyforge is still a pretty good MMO and the new Destiny expansion just released, so that's what I'm on right now.

I'd love to see another proper untainted Anph, But I have moved on. I think Ascension will be the last Anph experience for me, and a good one at that.

My PC is still in storage, I play starcraft on my laptop and fallout 4 and the new metal gear on my ps4, im a peasant!
